Worship the Risen Savior — Mark 16:6
Imagine being one of the ladies on that first Easter Morning who came to prepare the body of Jesus for burial. You are overcome with grief because you have seen your Lord crucified. You have many questions as to what will happen now. You find that the huge stone has been rolled away from the tomb. As you enter the tomb a young man says the words of Mark 16:6, “Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.” Jesus Christ rose from the dead, just as He promised. This is what makes it possible for all who will accept Christ as Savior to have Salvation. Have you accepted the Risen Savior as your Personal Savior? Come worship the Risen Savior with us at the Victor Bible Study this Easter.
Demonstrating Our Love for God — First John 2:16-17
Many things in our society take our focus away from loving God as we should. Often times however, we see these things as just a normal part of daily life. First John 2:16-17 says, “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” There is nothing wrong with working and enjoying our lives. However, we must sure that these activities do not keep us from doing what God wants us to do. The way we can be sure that we are obeying God is by studying and learning His Word, the Bible. In it, God tells us what we need to know to love God and live for Him. Do your actions show your love for God?
Come Study God’s Word — Second Peter 1:20-21
The focus of the Victor Bible Study is the Word of God. From it, we learn of the love of God, who God really is, the power of God, and the will of God for our lives. We do not strive to make the Word of God say what we want to hear. Instead we ask God to show us what He is saying to us in 2009. God gave us His Word through human authors, but they were writing what God told them to write. Second Peter 1:20-21 says this, “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” God’s Word is complete, dependable, and powerful, because it is from God. Please come and study God’s Word with us this Sunday.
The Test of Our Love for God — First John 2:15
There are many people in the world who say they love God, but they do not want to show their love by how they live. They want to have all the pleasures of the world, while still saying they are right with God. The real test of one’s love for God is in their worship of Him. First John 2:15 says, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” A person cannot truly say they love God, and continue to neglect Him. God wants us to enjoy our lives, but He wants us to live for Him while doing it. God gives all of us desires and things we enjoy, but we must recognize that those should not replace our relationship with God. Each person must choose whether pleasure or loving God will be the guide of their lives.
